Lehigh County District 2 Commissioner, Percy Dougherty has formally announced his re-election bid. Dougherty, a Republican and chairman of the nine-member board would like to continue to serve the residents of District 2, which covers Emmaus, Macungie, Alburtis, Lower Macungie, Upper Macungie and most of South Whitehall.
Dougherty, a retired professor of environmental, geology and geography studies at Kutztown University, will face a primary challenge from East Penn School Board member Mark Prinzinger.
Dougherty Served 4 terms as a Lehigh County Commissioner, served 6 years as Chairman of the Commissioners, is a Past President of the County Commissoners Association of PA, and served as a member of the Home Rule Charter Study Commission that reworked the Lehigh County Constitution
